The centre provides enrichment tools to enable the animals to utilize their natural skills and live in conditions as close as possible to those they would experience in the wild. There is a a registered veterinarian at the center to help the animals until the time they can be released back into their natural environment.
Activities vary from week to week depending upon the needs of the animals and the Animal Rescue Centre at the time. All volunteers need to participate in the wide variety of projects planned for the centre, from building bigger and better enclosures for the animals (a continuous all year round task) to improving access paths to the enclosures. Continuous animal observation is also part of their care.
While I was at the center I got to cut fruit, feed the animals, gather grasshoppers for the Monkeys to snack on in the afternoon, boil eggs for the animals to eat and general helped around the center. I saw that it can be alot of hard work, but if you love animals this will honestly be a paradise for you!

A typical day at the program:
